My mom and grandma taught me the best makeup tip, we all did it in the 2000s
A WOMAN learned her makeup skills from her mother, who learned them from her own mother.
Sometimes the most valuable family treasures are beauty tricks passed down from generation to generation.
Reddit user Species-lynx7078 shared the makeup tricks she and her family members have been using since the new millennium.
“Use your face cream to remove your makeup,” she said.
“I know that from my mom and my grandma. And I’ve been doing it my whole life. We were all doing it in the 2000s,” she added.
The family secrets were no longer so secret as she told others how to get the lipstick they desired.
“Mix your eyeshadow with Aquaphor or Vaseline for the perfect lipstick color,” she said.
She swore you wouldn’t look back after trying the lip trick – you can try the technique yourself by Vaseline at Target for only $2.69.
“Stop buying lipsticks, just do that and [you] “I won’t regret it,” she said.
And those weren’t the only golden tips in her beauty hack vault, as she advised others to “use any eyeshadow as blush.”

She had another tip that would also make you blush.
“Scrape some powder blush and mix it with primer. Now you have cream blush,” she said.
Other suggestions include using brown makeup or eye shadow to fill in your eyebrows.
“Usage [a] “Do a Q-tip with micellar water to make your wing super pointy,” she said.
She was also there to save you from the stink. She recommended applying Benzoyl Peroxide to your armpits and feet and leaving it on for three to four minutes so you don’t waste any product.
She guarantees that you will never suffer from smelly armpits or feet again.
It also worked wonders against pimples.
“I use it all over my body because that can be a problem for me too,” she said.
She just wants to prevent you from spending too much money on expensive body lotions.
“Just take glycerin and put one to two drops on your palms when you spray lotion. Mix it up and apply it,” she said.
“If I don’t have Vaseline with me, I use hand cream for my lips.”
Her mother’s advice didn’t stop there when it came to one-step nail care.
She explained how she cuts her toenails and fingernails over the toilet bowl so she can flush them right away and they’re gone.
“I learned that from my mother,” she said.
Others also shared their own beauty tricks.
“Use eye primer and baking powder or setting powder on top in a thin layer, this will help crease dark eyeshadows. It will make it last longer and it will feel less greasy and heavy,” said one user.
“[I use] “A little olive oil under my eyes before I apply foundation,” another commented.
“Otherwise the foundation looks really cakey and doesn’t blend under the eyes. Also apply foundation on the jawline and neck,” they added.
“Using a tissue over fresh lipstick and dusting the tissue with powder to set the lipstick,” one Redditor wrote.
