My mother was devastated by the ‘ridiculous’ amount of toys she gave her son for Christmas

The mother, who bears the name of ‘laurenrollsxx’ on her social media page she explained that despite having already bought presents from B&M, Tesco, Asda, Smyths and The Works, she still needs to buy a “few other things”.

In the video’s caption, Lauren also explained how all the presents were all “ready wrapped.”

As she films the presents, Lauren says to the camera: “This is what I got my nine-year-old son for Christmas.

“I got him one pink Krispy Kreme Snackles cuddly toy from Smyth’s, which cost £20, and then I bought him a tie-dye puppy from The Works in a two for £12 deal.

“Then I gave him three Nintendo Switch games. It says £12 but it’s actually two for £20 at B&M. The Crash Bandicoot I had from Smith’s Toys.

“I had the Guinness World Book of Records from The Works, reduced to £10. I thought, bargain!

“I got the Robo Alive Dino Fossil Find from Tesco. I got him these two Nintendo games at the Tesco toy event.

“They are box sets and they also come with accessories, and they have both been reduced to £15 for the game and accessory. I thought that was really good.

“I bought him the Oh No game from Smith’s. I’ve never played this before, but I’m looking forward to it.

And then I gave him the gaming neon speakers. I thought he likes listening to music; they would be great for his bedroom.

“Wheels small skateboards and then the Snackles Surprise Plushie. They are from Tesco.”

Lauren explained that her son spends hours playing with Play-Doh because he loves sensory things.

She says, “I also bought him the Kinetic Sand Ice Cream Station from Smith’s. It works brilliantly for him.

“I got some shower gels and some lip balms from Home Bargains and B&M, and then I picked up this Kebab game from Tesco. I thought, “brilliant fun family game for Christmas.”

And the list didn’t stop there.

Mom’s current pile also included Play-Doh Ice Cream Station, a gaming headset, mini skateboards and the Scuba Splash game.

She continues, “Then I gave him the skateboard ramp to use all his mini skateboards on. Some more Play-Doh.

“He plays with this for hours and hours. The battleship game. Oh my god, guys, I loved this game as a kid.

“I have a Lego set and a Dirt Arena set. They are from Smith’s and Tesco. One of his most important gifts is the scooter.”

Lauren revealed the store cost £130 from Smyths.

She says: “Then he has a couple of mini skateboards and a huge jewelry set. He likes making bracelets and such. Pajamas and the Bubble Tea set.

“I’m just going to get him his grand prize, which is a Steam Deck for gaming, and I’ve got some PS5 games coming. Some pajamas and clothes.

How to Save Money on Christmas Shopping

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to save money on your Christmas shopping.

Limit the number of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.

Instead, why not host a Secret Santa among your inner circles so you don’t have to buy multiple presents?

Plan ahead – if you have the stamina and the budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for next year during the January sales.

Make sure you shop for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you don’t spend more than you need to.

Buy on sale on Boxing Day – some retailers are starting their main Christmas sales early so you can actually score a bargain before December 25th.

Delivery may cost you a little more, but it could be worth it if the savings are significant.

Shop through outlet stores – you can save a lot of money by shopping through outlet stores such as Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.

They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually the wear and tear is minor.

Her video received a lot of attention and many rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: “I grew up like this. It’s so overwhelming and overstimulating. I refuse to do this to my kids lol.

“However, I know that parents do this out of pure love and that is all that matters.”

But Lauren responded: “But I understand that for other children with additional needs it may be too much and that’s okay!

“I’d probably be giving gifts in two days, but anyway, I love spoiling my boys.”

A second said: “Kids don’t need all that, just a loving home with a mum and dad who love them.”

Lauren defended herself by responding back, “Well, I guess it’s a bonus, then they have lots of lavish gifts and a loving mom who wins.”

A third added: “Not against what you do for your child. Great that you can do that.

“I was just saying that even mothers who have nothing experience this terrible feeling as a parent because they can’t do the same.”

An additional person wrote: “Fair enough but I wouldn’t give mine that much stuff each, that’s a bit much.”
