Not only this, but people have gone so far as to say that the wall looks “dangerous” and “poorly constructed” and is “one storm away from crushing a person to death.”

The man shared a close-up of the wall, which he said is over two meters high, on social media, leaving many open-mouthed.

He posted on Reddit to reveal everything on the wall, claiming the wall was “installed very quickly.”

Writing on the r/DIYUK thread, the anonymous man, who posts under the username @ChairmanChuck, titled his post “Advice on Border Wall Construction by Neighbors.”

He then explained: “Me and my partner recently bought our first house. It is a semi-detached house.

“Our neighbors said they were going to build a wall that would separate our backyards.

“My partner and I verbally confirmed that this would be OK.”

Alongside pictures of the huge wall, he added: ‘I came home from work and came across this.

“Am I being overly cautious or unreasonable in saying that this doesn’t look very safe or nice.”

Unsure about his neighbor’s DIY job, the man admitted: “I’m also concerned that they did this without permission from the council.

“Any advice is appreciated.”

Reddit users were left open-mouthed by the massive border wall and eager to share their thoughts in the comments.

But social media users were completely divided; some called it “stupid high,” others called it “better than a fence.”

Seems a bit dangerous to me. One strong wind storm away from crushing a person

One person said: “Seriously, if they haven’t laid a good foundation in it, which they haven’t, a wall of that height in the block will start to lean and crack in short order.

“It also looks like turbo dog s**t. They’ve also been brutal because they took the p**s and didn’t keep you properly informed and deliberately did it while you were away.

“It also immediately devalues your property. It’s also crazy high. High enough to require a building permit.”

The five main reasons why neighbors argue

A survey by Compare the Market revealed the main reason for the British neighbors’ dispute

  1. Broken Fences – at the top of the board was broken fences and whose responsibility it was to fix them
  2. Parking: one of the biggest causes of neighbor disputes: 54.1 percent of people have problems with people parking in front of their home, parking lot or driveway
  3. Trees – complaints about the neighbour’s tree destroying your garden path were also common; almost half of the participants found it frustrating
  4. Garbage wars – open-air garbage etiquette continues to cause the most heated debates among neighbors
  5. Nosy neighbors – some people have their eyes and ears ready to take a peek and cause trouble for others

Another added: “Very poorly built. Dangerous, must be pulled down and laid correctly.

While a third commented: “Looks a bit dangerous. One strong wind storm away from crushing a person.”

They did you a favor, most people want privacy in their garden

Nevertheless, not everyone was equally negative about the border wall.

One user wrote: “They did you a favor, most people want privacy in their garden. It’s structurally sound, has buttresses or whatever the proper name for it is.

“Paint it or do whatever you want (decoration-wise, at least).”

A second advised: ‘I would have it rendered to your taste. Better than a fence: it won’t rot.”

Meanwhile, someone else explained: ‘Many would kill for neighbors to repair or rebuild the dilapidated fences that are their responsibility, and you worry about being offered a fence that will outlast anything made of wood.

“You have a blank canvas there, let your imagination run wild.”
