My neighbor “Karen” gave me a fake “lawsuit” note for some crazy reason

A WOMAN has been left stunned after her neighbour left a fake “lawsuit” note on her car so she could park it on the street.

The stunned Glasgow resident only discovered the rude message when she was out and about.

On a lined piece of cardboard was handwritten: “PRIVATE. Parking for residents only.

“Civil lawsuit notices apply.

“To avoid a lawsuit, we kindly request that you remove your car and park elsewhere.”

It was simply signed as ‘residents association’.

However, the woman was taken aback by the letter, as she is a resident. She pointed out that there are no parking restrictions on the street.

She asked on Facebook: “Has anyone ever had this put on their car?

“I am actually a resident and live at the end of [the] “on the road and this was placed on my car where I parked late last night.”

The locals immediately stood up for her, insisting she had done nothing wrong.

One of them said: “Just someone who had to park a bit further away and threatened me with a lawsuit!!! What a pathetic little person.”

A second person wrote: “Is there such a connection or is it just someone trying to intimidate people into not parking in their favorite parking spot?

I’m furious after nosy neighbors left a note on my car asking about my ‘parking plans’ despite having a driveway for four cars

“The lack of proper contact information makes me suspect the latter. I could be wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time.”

A third commented: “They didn’t even try to make it look official.”

“It’s not worth the card the note is written on,” joked a fourth.

A fifth responded angrily: “I bet this ‘Residents Association’ consists of one KAREN neighbor who no one likes.”

Meanwhile, a sixth added: “How do people have time for that? Just throw it away. If you were parked illegally you wouldn’t get a warning, you’d just get a fine.”

In the UK, you do not have an automatic right to park directly in front of your home or to prevent others from doing so.

The only exceptions are if parking is prohibited on a street, or if a space is reserved by the local council for a particular resident. For example, a blue card holder may have a designated parking space.

It is also prohibited to park on the sidewalk, along double yellow lines or along a lowered curb.
