My neighbor took brutal revenge on me – I can’t believe he would be so petty
A HOMEOWNER is shocked by the revenge his ‘little’ neighbour took after a row.
The man said on Reddit that he lived in a rental property, with his neighbor’s house across the street from theirs.
The Redditor felt compelled to report his neighbors for hoarding “along the hallway,” claiming their clothes would get caught as they walked past.
In the message he added: “I know that in this kind of living environment we have to show tolerance. I also thought about it and spoke to him kindly, but it didn’t help.
“He makes up all kinds of excuses about keeping his stuff.
“Recently, the city council finally removed his stuff along the corridor. He got some of it back to put back along the corridor.”

From that point on things started to get out of hand and the neighbor took revenge in a rather crude manner.
He explains: “Now he puts out a bowl of rotten food every morning, so the hallway stinks and I can’t open my doors to get some fresh air.”
The man then claimed that the neighbour was also ‘spraying pesticides’ from his front door in the direction of their house. He asked people for advice on what to do as the council ‘couldn’t do much’.
He added: “Before anyone comments, buy a new house. Yes, my wife and I are looking for a house now, but we will be here for a while.”
Other Reddit users were quick to respond, with many offering their own solutions for the troublesome neighbors.
Someone wrote: “First of all, set up a camera in case he retaliates or escalates the situation.”
Another gave even more practical advice: “If you pour some used frying oil over the spoiled food, the smell will go away.”
“Unfortunately, there aren’t many options unless you want to move towards equal opportunities,” someone added.
“And even then I suspect you have more to lose”
Another agreed that moving was probably the best option.
They wrote: “The best advice is to leave.
“There is no point in staying next to such a toxic person and suffering from anxiety on a daily basis.”
I had a garbage war with my neighbor for two years
Gemma Smith and Sophie Wood were in weekly conflict over their bins for a year.
When Gemma moved in next door to Sophie (34), who is unemployed, in November 2020, they behaved politely towards each other.
Gemma, who is single and unable to work due to the stress, says: “Sophie seemed nice and we often stopped to exchange pleasantries.
“But that all changed in early 2022, when Sophie’s trash bin was full and she put her garbage bag in mine.
“I took it out and put it on top of her trash can.
“It fell off, seagulls pecked at it and there was rubbish everywhere.”
Both women refused to clean up the mess, believing it was the other’s fault.
Gemma says: “I felt so angry.
“There was cat litter all over my driveway. It was absolutely disgusting and we ended up yelling at each other.
“We were both as bad as each other: we walked past each other and I told her she was a lazy cow and that she should clean up her mess.
“We were shouting insults at each other.”
Within six months, Sophie had installed a security camera and threatened to report Gemma to the council.
In retaliation, Gemma installed the baby monitor, which can record video, to pin even more misbehavior on Sophie.
Last July, Sophie saw Gemma standing in front of her door, crying, after her house had been broken into.
Gemma says: “Sophie came straight over and asked if she could do anything for us.
“We are best friends now and help each other out all the time.”
