A WOMAN has wowed people with her ‘flawless’ porch makeover, which she achieved with a little paint.
American DIY mom Kylie Katich hated the front of her house so much that she closed her eyes when she had to go inside.

The porch, which she described as “sad and embarrassing,” was “the ugliest” part of the house, full of cracks and stains that she desperately wanted removed.
But as the parents became increasingly fed up with the poor condition of the veranda, they decided one morning to completely renovate it, without having to purchase expensive tools and equipment.
Before the makeover could begin, Kylie — who shared the makeover on TikTok — gave the concrete floor a thorough cleaning with a pressure washer, removing all the dirt and grime.
To make a fresh start, the parent also patched up the cracks, “so it felt like a clean slate,” she explained in the now viral video.
Once the surface was ready, Kylie poured in a whole can of concrete-safe paint and brushed it evenly over the surface, giving the entire surface a smooth finish.
After the porch was painted white (she knew someone would call that “landlord special”), Kylie took a piece of scrap lumber and cut it to 16 x 16.
The DIYer used this as a template to create the trendy check pattern on the floor. She also made sure to have a large grid on the side so the pattern would fit perfectly.
‘Because I spent so much time perfecting the pattern with the template and ruler, I felt like I didn’t need the tape.
“But I found these little sponge brushes worked best for creating straight lines,” said Kylie, who described the process as “therapeutic.”
”This looks so boring, but it really wasn’t. Creating the straight lines was so satisfying, I enjoyed every second of it.”
Kylie was so pleased with the result that she had painted the squares in a beautiful sand colour, that she could hardly believe the result herself.
”It looked so bad before and when I look at it afterwards, it looks like I laid tiles. It’s so beautiful. There are no cracks or stains anymore and the lines are straight.”
After the paint had completely dried, Kylie, who posted under the username @, posted a message on Instagram.lapwingput all the furniture back and put beautiful planters in place.

The DIYer joked while sharing the before and after photos that she no longer has to close her eyes when she walks into her home.
Since the clip was posted on the popular platform, it has been viewed more than 5 million times in just four days, with hundreds of people impressed by the makeover.
One of them said, “It really makes your porch pop! I love it!”
Another agreed, writing, “The color choice was impeccable.”
A coworker of mine advised: ”I did the same thing to my porch 2 years ago!! My only tip is to apply a good clear coat as the paint will chip over time.”
