My school lunch trick keeps my kids’ food warm for hours after I pack it
A mother shared her trick for keeping her kids’ food warm hours after she packed it.
Thanks to this trick, her homemade toasted sandwiches don’t get cold.
The mother (@wee.made.it) shared the food hack on a TikTok channel that went viral and has now been viewed more than 1.1 million times.
“Here’s the best tip for a grilled cheese sandwich at school!” she said.
She made her sandwiches as she always did and took the pieces out of the pan.
After letting the toast cool, she cut the bread into strips.
To keep it warm for as long as possible, she put the slices in a thermos.
Three hours after the grilled cheeses were prepared, they were still warm and ready to eat.
Viewers thanked her in the comments for her clever trick.

“Just grab a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch.”

A few creative viewers added tips to take the hack one step further.
“A good tip is to fill the thermos with boiling water beforehand and leave the water in it, so that the thermos stays warm!”, said one of them.
“I heard that if you put paper towels in the thermos, it doesn’t come out soggy either!” added another.
One commentator suggested trying the technique with other foods as well.
“The same goes for chicken nuggets with a paper towel in them [the] “thermos!” they said.
