So if you can’t afford to buy a brand new sofa, don’t worry. You’ve come to the right place.
A thrifty woman has proven that there is no need to spend a fortune on a living room essential, by giving her sofa a complete makeover with a lick of paint.
The California DIY enthusiast posted a message on social media giving her followers a glimpse of the before and after photos of her refurbished couch, leaving many jaws dropped.
To liven up her couch, she used green paint mixed with water, giving the once faded navy couch a fresh, new look.
The content creator shared the step-by-step process of her DIY project that is affordable on the wallet, as she wrote, “How I painted my coach.”
The woman confirmed that she had used “regular latex paint” which she had purchased at the local “hardware store.”
She explained that she mixed the paint with water, in a formula of two parts paint to one part water.
She used the ‘biggest brush’ she could find and got to work painting. She said, ‘This is really fun – we’re only doing one coat of colour, we want to get it as even as possible.’
The DIYer used the large brush to cover “every nook and cranny,” as she claimed: “This was honestly really easy.”
Proudly showing off her refinished sofa, which looks brand new and is now a stylish emerald green color, she confirmed, “My ex advised me against painting my sofa, saying it was a waste of time. I’m glad I didn’t listen.”
