My son came home covered in mud, his uniform was torn, but his apology is priceless
THIS is the moment a mother found her child standing on her doorstep covered in mud from head to toe before he made her a hilarious promise.
Julieanne WhyteEight-year-old son Ryan was playing with his sister Rebekah, 10, and their friends after school in Blantyre, Lanarkshire.
The naughty boy, still dressed in his school uniform, decided to take advantage of a muddy hill by sliding down it on his stomach.
A short clip shows a group of enthusiastic children joining in to give it a try.
But Rebekah joked that her younger brother had done it “like 20 million times” before they went home embarrassed.
And from the mud on him, it was clear that Ryan was indeed having a great time in the mud.
Wedding photographer Julieanne, 35, filmed her dirty son as he stood at the front door and looked very happy about it.
But the cute schoolboy did make one promise to his mother: “Look, next time I can wear really old clothes that barely fit me?”
Julieanne has since gone viral on social media, with a clip of Ryan’s antics having been viewed 140,000 times.
She looked at him in action and said, “So that’s my boy over there. That’s his school uniform. That’s his school uniform.
“What the f***.”
And people pounced on her reactions, praising her parenting.
Many are glad that Julieanne’s children are not glued to a screen, while others are impressed that she remains calm despite the mud.
“You don’t see children playing outside like this anymore, it’s great,” one cheered.
A second said: “You are the best mum! I’m not going to bash him because he just made the best memories!”
A third echoed: “The clothes will wash. The fun they have, the memories, will last a lifetime. You don’t see kids playing in the dirt these days.”
A fourth chimed in: “I think this is great. The way children should be! The way we were raised! Good luck with the washing.”
“Oh my god, well done mum, you did it perfectly,” exclaimed a fifth.
Meanwhile, a sixth wrote: “He melts my heart. Pure innocence there. It’s so beautiful to see children enjoying themselves outside.”
Julieanne told Fabulous about the viral moment: “I was shocked that he didn’t show up to get changed or ask me, because that’s what he normally does when he’s outside playing.
“He always comes in to tell me if there’s a water fight etc., so I can put clothes behind the door when he comes in.
“But he was so pleased with himself that I couldn’t even get annoyed by it.
“He also had a worm on him, which he just took off and put on the grass. Nothing hurts him.”
And to answer the burning question of whether the school uniform survived or not, she added: “Believe it or not, it went straight into the machine and came out without any stains.
“I still don’t know which polo shirt it was that they were all looking at now. Thank goodness!”
