My tips to keep my curly hair frizz free, I love a $5 shampoo and conditioner
IF grandma passes on her good hair genes, it would be a shame to waste it.
Cezara Robu revealed how she keeps her tailbone-length hair — with gorgeous curls just like her grandmother’s — in perfect condition, including her budget-friendly wash day routine.
The 26-year-old civil servant from London has a legion of subscribers YouTubewhere she shares beauty and wellness tips.
Speaking to The US Sun, she revealed which products and tools she uses to care for curly hair.
GRATEFUL FOR GRANDMA
Robu said her parents have thick hair, but most family members prefer to keep their hair short.
She said seeing her mother and father in their 60s showed that genes play a major role in the thickness of her own locks.
“My grandmother had beautiful curly hair when she was 80, and I am so glad I inherited her beautiful curls,” she said.
“My parents attribute the health of their hair to a good diet and are always willing to give health advice.
“They have tried to keep hair straighteners away from me and my brothers and have reinforced the idea that our natural hair is beautiful, which I am very grateful for.”
MIRACULOUS WASHINGS
Robu says she doesn’t need to wash her curls more than once every five to six days.

She shared that an often-maligned ingredient is a staple in her hair care routine.
“I’ve always been a fan of drugstore shampoos and I don’t shy away from sulfates,” she said
“My hair feels really clean afterwards and all product residue has been removed.”
She currently uses L’Oreal Elvive shampoo and conditioner, which sell for $4.99 each at CVS.
Customers have rated both budget-friendly hair care products highly.
“I wash my hair twice and only apply the conditioner to the lengths,” says Robu.
“It’s simple but very effective. Since my hair is healthy at the moment, I don’t use masks, but I want to try them.”
SIMPLE STYLES
Robu says there are several reasons why she always wears her hair down, unless she puts a hood over it.
“I think it looks much better when I wear it down than with any other hairstyle,” she said.
“I also want my curls to look beautiful and bouncy for as long as possible.
“If I put them in a ponytail or bun, they’re guaranteed to stretch out and ruin my wash day efforts.
“Also, I’m very sensitive to hair, so if I put my hair up for a long time, it pulls on my scalp and is quite painful.”
Nowadays I style my hair without a hairbrush and I am even happier with the results.

She said many people are unaware of how damaging their daily hairstyle can be to the health of their hair.
For her, tight hairstyles, such as ponytails, are taboo for a few hours.
“On the days I decide to tie my hair up, I opt for braids, a low ponytail, or a low, loose bun and wear satin scrunchies,” she said.
“I also avoid tying my hair up in the same place all the time.
“This can cause breakage at the point of contact with the hair tie, especially if the hair tie is not silk or satin.”
AWESOME TOOLS
Robu rarely uses a hairbrush to style her locks, as it is time-consuming and difficult with long hair.
For special occasions, when she wants perfect curls, she uses a curling iron she can buy at Target.
“For the perfect spiral style, I use the Denman D81M, which is perfect for creating tension and giving you a frizz-free curl,” she said.
“I want to try the new viral hairbrush from Bounce Curl, hopefully I will get my hands on it soon.
“Nowadays I style my hair without a hairbrush and I am even happier with the results.
“I think the extra fluff gives it a more voluminous and natural look.”
She revealed that the Dyson Diffuser is an “essential” tool in her daily styling routine.
“Even though I don’t diffuse my hair, it still plays a huge role in drying my hair, making it super curly and bouncy,” she said.
“The longer we leave the water in our hair, the more stretched the curls become.”
Whether it’s “long, short, frizzy, defined or straight,” Robu says people should embrace their natural hair if they want it to grow.
“We’re all trying to figure it out and there’s so much pressure to have the perfect, long, defined, spiral curls,” she said.
“If you want to wear it straight, do it. If you want to embrace the frizz, do it.
“But if you want to grow it long, be patient and follow my tips.”
