A beauty queen who participated in the Miss Universe parade died tragically at the age of 28.
The death of María Lorena Argüello, a semi -finalist in Ecuador’s Miss Universe Pageant last year, Was confirmed on Sunday by the Nation Procession Committee.
No further details were provided.
“We are with respect and solidarity with her family and loved ones at this time of grief,” said the Belleza’s competitive Nacional in a statement about Instagram.
“Her memory will always be with us.”
Argüello represented Ecuador’s capital Quito in the 2024 competition, its very first parade.
She obtained a medical surgeon diploma at the University of Las Americas on 30 June 2024, three weeks before she fails.
Argüello’s unexpected death surprised her friend María Topic, who was then crowned Miss Universe Ecuador.
“Today heaven has won a beautiful soul,” wrote the subject on social media. ‘My heart mourns for your death, but I trust that God is holding you in His arms.
Nadia Mejía, who was crowned Miss California 2016 and participated in last month’s Miss Universe Ecuador match, described Argüello as ‘one of the friendliest people’ ever.
