National League Playoff Final Referee immersed with cramps in extra time

Referee Elliot Bell had to be replaced by cramps during the play-off final of the National League.

Shortly after the break of extra time in the game in between Southend And Oldham, the Whistler was replaced by the fourth official Aaron Bannister.

Bell stopped cramping in the 107th minute of the game and shocked to the touchline to be replaced.

Southend then led 2-1, thanks to the goal of Leon Chambers parillon barely a minute in extra time.

Within three minutes after Bell that was replaced, Oldham dramatically made it to the courtesy of veteran Vooruit James Norwood.

The Latics completed their comeback less than two minutes later and took the lead when the cross of Kian Harratt flew all the way in.

Southend stacked men forward as they desperate hunted an equalizer.

But after three minutes of stopping time, Bannister blew up – The promotion of Oldham confirm back to the EFL.

Earlier in the game, Bell had awarded the Latics a penalty.
