Oklahoma City Thunder-star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander reportedly won his first NBA MVP Award.
Gilgous-Alexander hears ‘MVP’ songs as the leader of the Thunder, who is one of the best teams in the NBA throughout the season.
The Canadian Dynamo was on average 32.7 points per match this season, with 6.4 assists per match and a field target of 51.9 percent.
Gilgous-Alexander who won his first NBA MVP prize was the assumed movement after his season, making it reality on Wednesday, per ESPN.
The 26-year-old winning MVP continues the trend of a player born abroad who takes the honor that goes back to 2018, when the last American who won, James Harden, did.
In the following years, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic won a combined six MVPs before Gilgous-Alexander made it seven consecutive years without an American winner.

Before Antetokounmpos MVP-Eer in 2019, only three players born abroad had once won the prize a total of four times.
The first was Hakeem Olajuwon in 1994, then Steve Nash twice in 2005 and 2006, and followed Dirk Nowitzki in 2007.
Gilgous-Alexander becomes the second Canadian to win the prize after Nash.
Gilgeous-Alexander is still playing this season and leads the Thunder in the Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The NBA has not officially announced Gilgeous-Alexander as the winner of the prize, but is expected to do this on Wednesday evening.
