Netflix Geeked Week: ‘Sandman’ Season 2 Blasts With Loki, Thor, Fairies, and More
Get ready to enter the dream world with The Sandman’s Morpheus — also known as Dream — when the series returns in 2025.
Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes featurette teasing Sandman Season 2 during its Geeked Week fan event on Thursday, and CNET was on hand to capture the news. Peaceful sleep and sweet dreams won’t be the order of the day, as new characters are set to enter with nightmarish deeds.
Season 2 marks the first time that Dream and his entire Endless family — Destiny, Death, Destruction, Desire, Despair, and Delirium — will be on screen together. You won’t want to miss them or The Prodigal. This family dinner will be anything but normal.
“I think the great thing about the family dinner is that not only do we learn more about the chain of events, but it sets the chain of events in motion,” Kirby, who reprises her role as Death in Season 2, reveals in the clip.
The show is based on the graphic novel by Neil Gaiman and stars Tom Sturridge as Dream, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer and Donna Preston as Despair. But in the upcoming installment, Dream will encounter bosses from other realms, including Hell, Asgard and the Faerie realm. The season will continue the Mist and Brief Lives storylines from the book, which delve into old loves, family strife and Death.
Viewers will be along for the extraterrestrial ride as Loki, Odin, Thor, Puck and Orpheus make an appearance. New to the Season 2 cast are Freddie Fox, Barry Sloane, Jack Gleeson, Clive Russell, Indya Moore, Adrian Lester, Esmé Creed-Miles and Ruairi O’Connor as the Dream’s child, Orpheus.
