A newlywed bride has died on her honeymoon in a horrific golf cart accident ten days after her wedding.

Marina Morgan, 29, died in Queensland, Australia, after her new husband Robby overturned the vehicle while attempting a U-turn when the battery was low.

Robby was unharmed, but Marina tragically died on the spot on Whitsunday Boulevard on Hamilton Island.

An off-duty doctor, dentist and off-duty firefighter desperately tried to resuscitate her by performing CPR for 35 minutes before she was pronounced dead.

Queensland Police Inspector Anthony Cowan said it was a ‘tragic accident’ and added there was ‘no indication of alcohol or dangerous driving’.

He added: ‘There may have been some inexperience in driving this type of vehicle while turning, it rolled on its side and the woman fell and suffered life-threatening injuries.

“It just seems like inexperience in driving that type of vehicle, turned too fast and rolled on its side and unfortunately it ended with this result.”

Marina was not wearing a seat belt in the buggy at the time, a popular means of transport on the popular tourist island.

The couple had their wedding postponed for a year due to Covid before finally tied the knot this month.

Robby, a real estate agent, asked Marina to be his wife at a lavish dinner in Sydney in June 2019, surrounded by candles and rose petals, holding a large sign that read: ‘Marina, will you marry me?’

He was so excited that he posted a photo of the happy couple on Facebook, with the caption: ‘Great evening! She said yes!’

As hundreds of friends and relatives congratulated the couple, Marina wrote: ‘Thank you for such a great evening, dear. I love you so much I can’t wait to be your wife.’

They originally planned to wed on July 24, 2021, but lockdowns and capacity constraints during the pandemic forced the couple to change the date to June 2022 – as well as push the date of their honeymoon to Hamilton Island.

On July 24 last year—the day they were to be married—a friend wrote a comment on Mr. Morgan’s Facebook page: “Thinking of you and Marina today. It should have been your very special day.’

The couple eventually married at St Mary & St Merkorious Coptic Orthodox Church in Rhodes, Sydney’s northwest, 11 – 10 days before the tragedy.

Footage showed the bride and groom sharing their first dance in a room with cheering friends and family during the reception at Doltone House, in Sydney’s Hyde Park.

Mrs. Morgan’s brother shared a series of happy snaps from the big day, including a photo of him with Mr. Morgan – “welcome to the family, brother,” he wrote.

The blushing bride wore a long, bejeweled white dress and held a bouquet of white roses as she sat in the back of a limousine with Mr. Morgan after the ceremony.

On Tuesday evening, tributes began to pour in for Ms Morgan, who was remembered by loved ones as a “beautiful soul.”

“So sad Rest in peace beautiful lady,” a friend wrote on Facebook.

Another said: ‘May God rest your beautiful soul Marina’.

“So sad, I wish God had saved her,” wrote a third person.

“May she rest in peace.”

The couple both worked at the property, with Robby running a home renovation construction company while his wife ran a media company specializing in real estate marketing.

He opened Outright Property Solutions in early 2020 before his new wife launched her complementary business, Outright Media Group, last December.
