New York Yankees Luke Weaver is expected to be out for a maximum of six weeks after injuring his hamstring in Sunday’s victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This season Weaver is one of the striking players for the Yankees and takes over from the struggle of poet Devin Williams for the American League East leaders.
So far he has eight saves to his name this season with an era of 1.05. The size of his injury was first reported by ESPN.
Speaking after Sunday’s 6-3 victory over the Dodgers, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that Weaver felt a problem while warming up.
“He felt something when he finished warming up, and when he started stretching, he felt something in the middle of his Hammy,” said Boone. “So we had to make a switch up there.
“We hope it’s not that serious. We will see what we have when we get home. ‘
Tim Hill replaced Weaver and wrapped the last three for the Yankees in LA.

Weaver, who finished last season as the closer to the Yankees in the midst of Clay Holmes, returned to a role as a setup for Williams, but recovered the final position while Williams had trouble setting up.
The Yankees have three games at home against Cleveland Guardians this week, followed by three more in Yankee Stadium against Boston Red Sox.
