NFL fans claim Simone Biles should be ‘stripped of all her medals’ over major wardrobe malfunction as Olympic gymnast cheers on husband Jonathan Owens
Simone Biles drew the ire of NFL fans on Saturday with her fashion choices while watching her husband, Jonathan Owens, in action for the Chicago Bears.
After wowing the crowd in Paris with three gold medals and one silver, the Olympic gymnast enjoyed some NFL preseason action as she cheered on her boyfriend at the Bears’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Still, observant NFL fans were outraged when the 27-year-old made a fashion blunder.
The Olympic legend was spotted on the sidelines of Soldier Field wearing an oversized coat featuring black-and-white photos of her NFL husband.
However, the various snaps showed Owens in action for the Green Bay Packers — longtime rivals of the Bears and his former team. To make matters worse, there was a large Packers logo on the shoulder pad.

As she walked the sidelines, Biles also wore a protective boot on her left foot due to a calf injury she sustained during the Olympics. She finished the look with a pair of reflective silver sunglasses, a black Prada bucket hat and a Balenciaga bag.
Despite her attempts to make a touching and encouraging gesture toward Owens, Biles found herself in the middle of one of the league’s fiercest rivalries and fans were far from impressed.
“Simone Biles should be stripped of all her medals after wearing Packers gear while cheering on the Bears,” one social media user posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Yeah, yeah, I get it. Her husband played for the Packers and it’s an Owens themed jacket, but this is just wrong.”
Others agreed with him, questioning Biles’ seemingly ignorant football knowledge.
“With all due respect, Simone Biles needs to throw that jacket in the trash ASAP,” another claimed. “How did she get in with that?”
“She clearly supports her husband Jonathan Owens and she’s one of the best Olympians so she gets a free pass… but it’s still one of the oldest rivalries in all of soccer and she’s wearing the #GoPackGo logos lol,” Chase Daniel of The Athletic posted.
“Let her husband go now!” one particularly irate Bears fan chimed in, while another added: “She is ridiculously oblivious to your surroundings and insulting to her husband.”

Owens played one season in Green Bay last year before transferring to Chicago earlier this year.
While her better half prepared for her quest for gold in Paris, the safety signed a two-year contract with the Bears in March worth a reported $4.5 million.
The gymnast appeared delighted with her partner’s move and celebrated the deal in a series of tweets.
“CHICAGO HERE HE COMES,” she posted before revealing that she has no plans to permanently relocate with her husband.
“I’m so glad I don’t have to make a transfer to visit my husband hahahaha,” she wrote in a follow-up post.
But despite her initial joy, now that she’s won even more Olympic medals, it appears Biles hasn’t had time to update her competition wardrobe.
Owens appears to have found his feet in his new NFL chapter in Chicago. The franchise even gave him five days off from preseason training so he could travel to Paris to see his wife during the Olympics.

Owens and Biles met in 2020 through the dating app Raya, when she had already won four Olympic gold medals and was considered one of the best gymnasts of all time.
Biles and Owens got engaged in 2022 and married last April.
Owens was criticized late last year for admitting he did not know Biles before the two met.
The backlash against Owens was so intense that Biles had to intervene, posting on her Instagram Story, “STOP BRINGING ME UP,” followed by 14 laughing emojis and closing the caption with “work on that for the new year.”
