Nivin Pauly acquitted of rape
KOCHI: Actor Nivin Pauly got one clean chit by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing a rape case registered by Oonnukal Police. Pauly was also removed from the list of suspects in the case. The actor later posted a message on social media expressing his gratitude to those who supported him during the investigation.
“As there was no evidence against Nivin Pauly, we have removed him from the list of suspects in the case registered at Oonnukal police station,” said a senior police official belonging to the SIT.
The officer confirmed that Oonnukal police had filed a detailed report before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Kothamangalam regarding the case. In the meantime, the investigation against other suspects in the case continues.
The FIR named Pauly, a film producer and four others, including a woman, alleging gang rape and other charges following a complaint filed by a woman who alleged that she was sexually assaulted multiple times between November 1 and December 15 last year in Dubai.
Pauly later said on social media: “Sincere gratitude to everyone who stood by me. Thank you for all the love, prayers and support.” TNN
