Expecting me to solve a puzzle about dance moves is like asking your Labrador retriever to perform open-heart surgery. I’m so far out of my comfort zone that I might as well be on another planet. The fact that I found all the answers suggests that this is a moderately difficult question, rather than downright difficult.
The key is in the spangram, because once you knew the theme was DANCEMOVES – which the theme clue “Everybody cut footloose!” might have given away, but which a few answers probably would have anyway – that spangram stood out. MOONWALK is also a relatively obvious one that takes up a lot of space, and while I needed a few hints, I was able to figure most of them out through trial and error. I have no idea what the FLOSS is, though.

Strands is the new word game from the NYT, after Wordle and Connections. It is now out of beta and is therefore a full member of the NYT stable of games and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
