NYT Strands Today (Contest #183) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands question, game #183, are…
- ESQUIRE
- VISCOUNT
- KNIGHT
- QUEEN
- DUCHESS
- COUNT
- BARON
- SPANGRAM: TITLES
- My rating: Simple
- My score: Perfect
I am always pleased when I see a Q in a Strands puzzle. It is always followed by a U, which of course drastically reduces the words that can be made with it. Add to that the fact that there are also very few letters that can go before a Q – they are basically vowels or S, occasionally an R – and these words are usually not too difficult to discover.
There were two in today’s Strands, ESQUIRE and QUEEN, and I found both of them early on without any problems. That confirmed the central theme of the puzzle, which the ‘Order in the Court!’ clue wouldn’t necessarily have helped much with, and set me on my way to solving what was again a fairly simple game.
How was your day? Send me an email and let me know.
