NYT Strands Today (Contest #174) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands question, game #174, are…
- RICE
- SODA
- WATER
- OYSTER
- GOLDFISH
- SALTY
- SPANGRAM: CRACKERS
- My rating: Moderate
- My score: 2 tips
I do like a good cracker with a bit of cheese, but I’ve barely heard of any of the varieties in today’s Strands, so I had a hard time figuring them all out and needed a few pointers. RICE and WATER I know (and have eaten), GOLDFISH I vaguely knew from TV and movies, but SODA, OYSTER and SALT… no, no experience with them. Well, that’s what I say, but it turns out I know them, I’ve just never heard them called that.
Anyway, you don’t care what I eat, so I’ll just leave it at that and say that if you got the fairly easy spangram (which the theme clue didn’t help with at all) plus maybe one or two others, you’ve probably done well today.
How was your day? Send me an email and let me know.
