NYT Strands Today (Contest #147) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands question, game #147, are…
- LOG
- STAND
- CHRONIC
- TIME
- GLOBE
- HERALD
- SPANGRAM: NEWSPAPER
- My score: Simple
- My score: Perfect
I would have been a little annoyed if I had gotten this wrong – after all, I have worked at several newspapers in my career. The hardest part today, as is often the case, was figuring out what the theme was, but once that was in place it was a piece of cake.
I found the spangram first, after thinking for a moment about what the theme ‘daily delivery’ might mean. I searched for LETTERS and PARCELS, then MILK, then I saw NEWS and thought aha! NEWSPAPER was easy after that, and then the names JOURNAL and HERALD fell into place with a minimum of fuss.
How was your day? Send me an email and let me know.

- MITTENS
- MUSHROOM
- KITTENS
- SPANGRAM: GOODNIGHT MOON
