NYT Strands Today (Contest #123) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands question, game #123, are…
- FIREWORKS
- ASTERISK
- PICNIC
- FLAG
- PROCESSION
- SPANGRAM: INDEPENDENCE DAY
- My score: Simple
- My score: Perfect
Happy 4th of July, everyone! I don’t celebrate it myself, because I’m in the UK. No, I’m not still angry that we lost the war of independence, it’s just not an issue here. That may have made the game a little harder, but honestly, the NYT made it very easy for everyone today.
First up is the spangram INDEPENDENCE DAY, which takes up a whopping 15 of the 48 letters on the board. That only left room for five standard answers, and one of them, FIREWORKS, was very easy to find and used up another nine.
Second, the answers here aren’t specific to any American celebration – PARADE, FLAG, and SPARKLERs are mainstays of national days around the world, so naming them one by one really wasn’t a challenge.
How was your day? Send me an email and let me know.
