This was one of those Strands games where I was a little unsure of what the connection was until I solved the first one, and then it all became really easy. That first word in my case was CHICK, and I immediately realized that now I need more baby animals – or BABY ANIMAL, as the spangram would call it.
After that, all I had to do was think back to when my kids were little, when I seemed to spend about 50% of my waking hours imitating farm animals. But no, I didn’t make any noises when I solved the Strands puzzle…

What is NYT Strands?
Strands is the new word game from the NYT, after Wordle and Connections. It is now out of beta and is therefore a full member of the NYT games stable and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
