NYT Strands Today (Contest #129) – The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands question, game #129, are…
- PIRATES
- CROCODILE
- DARLING
- HOOK
- LAGOON
- MERMAID
- SPANGRAM: PETERPAN
- My score: Moderate
- My score: Perfect
What I like about Strands is the way it flits from topic to topic with no real pattern. One day you might be tasked with finding lawn ornaments, another day it might be things you do in the morning, another day it might be country music stars. Or, in today’s case, PETERPAN.
It’s been a long time since I read Peter Pan; I shared it with my daughters when they were little, and watched a few of the different movies with them. But that was a decade ago now, and I struggled to remember all the elements. PIRATES was easy, CROCODILE was pretty good. But MERMAID and LAGOON… well, I would have struggled to find them if the spangram hadn’t neatly cut the board in half. I got them all eventually, but they weren’t the easiest Strands ever. Fun, though.
How was your day? Send me an email and let me know.
