Like many people, I rediscovered cycling during lockdown a few years ago, but even if I hadn’t, I don’t think I would have struggled here. The theme clue didn’t do much to disguise things, and once I found CHAIN, I rode freely to the finish. There were no bumps in the road to worry about, and I figured the whole thing out in about five minutes.

What is NYT Strands?
Strands is the new word game from the NYT, after Wordle and Connections. It is now out of beta and is therefore a full member of the NYT games stable and can be played on the NYT Games site on desktop or mobile.
