Nyt Strands Today (Game #469) – The answers
The answers to today’s strands, Game #469, are …
- Chalupa
- Crawdad
- Popcorn
- Paparazzi
- Ivy
- Spangram: Fathers Day
- My review: Moderate
- My score: 1 hint
How clear it seems afterwards, it cost me two words before I realized that today’s theme was a tribute to the fathers of the world, with a selection of words with dad, dad, dad or doll.
I wondered for a while and wondered what Mexican food (chalupa) has to do with shellfish (crawdad) before I got it.
Although there is a sentiment that Father’s Day is only a vacation to generate some summer -time cash for the greeting card industry, I say every day with which your family can appreciate, is a good thing.
However, I think some companies go too far to climb on board that trains daddy – chocolate and whiskey is one thing, but a department store that I was in last week had a sign next to a desktop printer said: “Give your father what he really wants this Father’s Day”. I think I can speak on behalf of most fathers when I say that what we really want is not a printer.
How did you do it today? Let me know in the comments below.
