Instead of simply taking over the world of social media, Xai is said to build a new function for its grok model with which it has access and can edit documents and files.
Leaked code has suggested that Xai develops an advanced file editor for grock, with spreadsheet Support for the center of the stage, because it seems to increase its appeal and attract more users.
The move can mean that users get more tools and functions to sharpen their work, but with the risk that files are analyzed (and possibly uploaded to the Systems of Grok, and even X itself.
Grug in your Sprectsheets?
Reverse engineer Nima Owji, who leaked the findings on X, noted With the tool, users can talk to grok and ask them to help them edit the files.
It is not clear why only spreadsheets are involved, rather than documents, slide performances or image makers – but the move seems to be part of a campaign by Xai to compete with much larger rivals OpeniGoogle, and Microsoft – who have already embedded smart AI Copilots in their Productivity tool.
X owner Elon Musk has been publicly clear about his goals to turn the service into an “all -app” that is able to handle a wide number of daily tasks.
The company recently launched Grok Studio, with which users can work with the service through an interface of a Split-Screen Interface, so that they can get help with generating documents, code, reports and even games.
Similar to Google’s workspace Online collaboration Platform, Xai has also revealed that users can make specific workplaces to retain and organize specific files and conversations in one location.
Google Workspace users can currently communicate with the Gemini AI assistant of the platform when creating documents, so that they can get help or suggestions in specific areas or themes, as well as additional insights from other files or documents.
Xai has not commented on the leak and has yet to respond to a request for comments from TechRadar Pro.
