Ola electric bike could be launched in India on August 15 with these features
Ola Electric bike is scheduled to launch in India on August 15 at the annual event dubbed “Sankalp 2024” to be held at FutureFactory in Tamil Nadu. The electric two-wheeler (EV) is expected to be the first-ever bike from the Bhavish Aggarwal-led company. It will join the Ola S1X, S1 Air and S1 Pro in its fleet of electric two-wheelers in the Indian market. While little is known about it, Ola has been teasing various design elements of the bike through social media posts.
Ola Electric Bike Launch Date in India
Ola Electric has confirmed that the upcoming motorcycle will be launched on August 15. However, it is unclear if it will go on sale this year. In July, Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal had revealed that the company would start selling electric motorcycles within the “first six months” of 2025.
At launch, it is expected to rival other electric bikes in the Indian market. Depending on the price, it could compete with entry-level models like the Tork Kratos R and Revolt RV400 or high-performance EVs like the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 and Matter Aera.
Ola electric bike features (expected)
According to a preview Shared via a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Ola Electric bike appears to feature a dual-pod LED headlight at the front, similar to the one seen on the S1 electric scooter range. There’s a horizontal LED strip at the top and two vertical strips on the sides. While not official, it’s speculated that these serve as turn signals. A blurry image of the bike shared Aggarwal unveiled KTM-style slim turn signals at the front and rear a few days ago.
The images on social media also suggest it would have a conventional right-side-up telescopic fork suspension. In-development snapshots shared by the CEO in recent weeks also point to the addition of a chain drive and a large battery surrounded by a tube frame.
It has also been confirmed that the electric bike will be powered by batteries developed in-house at Ola’s manufacturing facility.
