Olympic athlete Ilona Maher reveals the $9 lipstick she wears when she plays rugby
LIPSTICK that stays put, even during a sporting event, is a game-changer.
Olympic champion and rugby player Ilona Maher would agree.
Ilona has revealed which cheap $9 lipstick she wears on and off the field.
In an interview with Highlight HER (@markeersterhaar), Ilona spilled her favorite lipstick.
“I wear Maybelline Self-Starter when I play,” she said.
“It stays on really well. It stays on during all my games.”
The Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick costs $9 and lasts up to 16 hours.
Thousands of makeup fans raved about the long-lasting stain, giving the product five-star reviews.
A satisfied customer said she was pleasantly surprised when she received the lipstick after she had already started wearing a face mask.
“I started using this when we had to wear masks. It doesn’t rub off unless you eat food with oil and then reapply it,” she said.

“Oils are removed, making it easier to change color or wash your face.
“This ‘Super Stay Matte Ink’ is the best decision I ever made. I can now keep my lipstick on all day, indoors and out, on every trip I take.
“Do not reapply unless you put the cream on top. Then you just wipe it off. Perfect solution for a die-hard lipstick wearer!”
Others agreed that it “took forever.”
“They should have called it Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid ‘TATTOO’ because when you apply it on your lips it STAYS ALL DAY,” wrote another.
“And I really mean ALL DAY (during meals, while dabbing your lips, while brushing your teeth).
“I love bright colours: hot pink, very bright orange and red. That bright colour is very beautiful all day long!
“I don’t have to touch up my lips like I do with regular lipstick and I also don’t have to worry about lipstick lines on my chin after I eat.”
She explained that after trying the lipstick, she decided never to wear it again.
“I hated this with all my other regular lipsticks. I threw out all my other regular lipsticks when I got this one in three different colors,” she said.
Another fan called it her “all-time favorite.”
“No smudging or reapplication required! Super easy to remove with Vaseline or Aquaphor,” she said.
