Fans of one of the greatest one-hit miracles of the 1980s were for a surprise when the beloved singer behind the Cheerleader Anthem was seen on Wednesday on a rare outing in LA.

The Mickey hit maker, now 81, looked almost unrecognizable when she got out in a black and white geometric robe, worlds away from her iconic music video look from 1982.

The pop star kept a low profile in oversized hues and still rocked her characteristic jet-black hair to her showbizz-height days, including choreography work on American Graffiti, a role of lead dancer in the beach film Pajama Party from 1964 and a performance in the Elvis Classica Las Vegas.

Despite her youthful glow and cheerful attitude, fans could not help it, but her slippers hosts held together and can be clearly tired for support during the sunny walk.

In addition to her choreography career, Basil also played, with roles in contraculture classics such as Easy Rider (1969) and Five Easy Pieces (1970), both helped to define the Tarantino film, Tace Tace.

Basil said she was traced by Tarantino’s Encyclopedic knowledge of her work – even reminding her unusual duet with Davy Jones, Daddy’s Song, in the film Head of the Monkees from 1968.

The iconic Cheerleader outfit she wore in the Mickey video was not a costume -it was her actual high school uniform, which was reused decades later for one of the most unforgettable POP visuals of the 1980s.
