Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) has announced the official opening of his new terminal building for the public.

From Tuesday 17 June, all passengers arriving and leaving via the airport will receive an exclusive first look at the upgraded terminal, because the opening marks the end of the first phase of the £ 100 million project.

Passengers will benefit from improved terminal facilities, all of which are aimed at improving customer service and regional connectivity.

This includes a new luggage -3test area and An improved passport control facility with advanced security technology, designed to ensure a ‘smoother and safer journey’.

The terminal also brings an impressive increase of 83 percent in seats and offers passengers more space, comfort and clear view of the runway.

Moreover, passengers will be provided with more variation and choice than ever, because the extensive terminal entails a wider range of food and drink offers.

For a touch of luxury, passengers can now gain access to two premium lounges, including the whole new eight one premium lounge, which offers seasonal menus with fresh, locally produced products and a relaxing space for relaxing before entry.

Work on phase 2 of the project is already on the move, with a focus on refurbishing the existing terminal to further improve the passenger experience and to modernize the existing terminal infrastructure.

During phase 2, passengers must expect some changes when the airport is left.

Upon arrival at the terminal, passengers will notice scaffolding and hoarding at the front of the area, as well as a moved Meet & Greet parking space and new zones for bushick-up and drop-off.

“While we turn into phase 2 of the project, the changes will influence the usual passenger flows and we want to thank passengers in advance for their understanding.”

In the meantime it was announced in April Luton Airport will double its capacity after the government has given permission for its expansion.

The transport secretary, Heidi Alexander, rejected planning inspectors who received the expansion of environmental problems.

Luton’s plans will expand its existing terminal and built a completely new terminal as well as new taxi paths.

The airport hopes to double its annual passenger numbers by 2043 to 32 million. Currently, around 16.7 million travelers use Luton Airport every year, the fourth largest airport in London’s area.
