OnePlus 13 could have a huge battery and a disappointing camera
If you’ve been waiting for the OnePlus 13, the latest leak is a mix of good and bad news. Let’s start with the good news.
According to leaker Digital Chat Station posting on the Chinese site Weibo (via GizmoChina), the OnePlus 13 will pack a 6,000mAh battery. That’s said to be significantly larger than the 5,400mAh battery in the OnePlus 12, which itself is larger than the batteries in most phones.
For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 4,441mAh battery, and the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL has a 5,060mAh battery. So the OnePlus 13 could be a true battery life champion.
Charging speeds shouldn’t disappoint either, with the same source claiming that the OnePlus 13 will support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Again, that would beat most phones, though it wouldn’t be much of an upgrade over the OnePlus 12, which already offers those speeds. It’s also worth noting that, like the OnePlus 12, charging speeds will likely remain capped at 80W in the US.
Same sensor as before
Where this leak gets even more disappointing is the claim that the OnePlus 13 will feature the same LYT808 main camera sensor as the OnePlus 12. This is a 50MP f/1.6 camera and while it’s not bad, it’s a shame that OnePlus apparently isn’t upgrading it, especially as we only gave the cameras a 3/5 in our OnePlus 12 review , though that’s partly down to the secondary lenses.
In any case, we always take leaks with a grain of salt, so these details may not add up in retrospect, even if the source has a good track record.
It might be a while before we know the OnePlus 13’s actual specs, as previous reports suggest the phone won’t launch until December. And even then, it might only launch in China, with a global launch likely set for early 2025. In the meantime, stay tuned for further leaks and rumors.
