OnePlus Nord 4 design leaked ahead of July 16 launch

OnePlus has been balancing performance with practical design for its mid-range Nord series in India for the past few years. While the phone packs enough power and performance to offer a smooth software experience, the brand has cut corners in some areas like design and cameras to make it available at a right and competitive price. Some of that is set to change with the next model which is currently tagged as the Nord 4. Slated to be announced on July 16 during OnePlus’ upcoming global event, the Nord 4 has been spotted in some new leaks that reveal a brand new design for the OnePlus sub-brand.

One of the major design leaks that has surfaced online is a after on X by @OnePlusClub showing off the phone in all its glory and reportedly all the colors the brand plans to launch it in. There’s a two-tone mint green finish, a two-tone silver finish, and a basic black.

The silver finish also appears to have a textured back with large grooves. The green and black color variants have backs that are perfectly flat with beveled corners for flat sides. All three finishes show off the new design language with a new camera layout. It now has two horizontally aligned cameras with LED flash modules that are placed on the same plane but at a distance.

The same image also shows the presence of the three-stage alert slider, confirming that it is still present in the more expensive (non-CE) Nord smartphones.

The new leaks (embedded above) and OnePlus’ own teasers also hint at the use of metal for upcoming launches, which will include the Nord 4. Other recently revealed live images of the same phone clearly show a metal U-shaped unibody chassis that integrates the rear panel, leaving an opening at the top for the cameras.

It will indeed be very interesting to see what the final smartphone will look like, as it will bring back memories of the years gone by, when phones usually had an all-metal design (despite reception issues), signifying “premiumness”. On a side note, the OnePlus Nord 4 shown in these images reminds us of the Pixel 2 series and the Pixel 3 series (launched between 2017 and 2018).

The OnePlus Nord 4 is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC, according to a previous report. The device could feature a 6.74-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is said to have a 50-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 16-megapixel shooter for selfies. The device is said to be fueled by a 5,500mAh battery and is likely to support 100W fast wired charging.
