Oppo Find X8 series may get an extra button for quick actions
The Oppo Find X7 series launched in January with features like a 32-megapixel selfie shooter, 5,000mAh battery and 100W charging support. Now, Oppo is apparently gearing up to unveil the Find X8 series with at least three models — the Oppo Find X8, Find X8 Pro, and Find X8 Ultra. While the launch details of the Find X8 series remain unclear, a prominent tipster has suggested that the phones will come with a new button. Meanwhile, there is also heavy speculation that the Apple iPhone 16 series will come with a similar dedicated capture button.
Oppo Find X8 series may get an extra button
Tipster Ice Universe posted an alleged render of the Oppo Find X8 on X with a side view. The render shows the device with an additional button on the bottom part of the device, called ‘Quick Button’. The placement of the button on the right side of the frame indicates that it could be a dedicated camera button.
Moreover, a similar leaked marketing material was shared by a Weibo user (@Technology BiuBiu Car) tips that the shortcut button provides multiple functions in camera mode, photo playback mode and game mode.
According to this poster’s machine translation, the button can be tapped to take a photo in camera mode. The poster suggests that a long press will allow you to take photos while sliding the button to zoom in and out. In photo playback mode, sliding a finger on the button will allow you to scroll through photos. In game mode, this button can be long-pressed for continuous shooting.
There’s heavy speculation that the iPhone 16 series, expected to go official on September 9, will get a similar dedicated capture button for photos and videos. Sony’s handful of Xperia phones already have capture buttons.
