American rugby player Ilona Maher made her national debut for the United States during the 2018 HSBC World Sevens Series against Japan, also in Paris, France.
In 2021, her social media presence grew with her behind-the-scenes look at the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Now, with over 1.2 million followers on TikTok and nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram, she is one of the most talked about participants in the Team USA Olympic Games.
She is currently settling into the Olympic Village in preparation for her participation in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
In a viral TikTok videoshe showed off her fresh Olympic-themed manicure, which she’s excited to show off if she wins gold.
“When you get your Olympic nails done, you know it’s going to be exciting,” the screen read.
“The return of Olympic Ilona! I can’t wait! You were my favorite part of the last summer games!” wrote one TikTok user.
Ilona kept her outfit casual, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Her hair was pulled back in a low bun.

“I just got my nails done and I immediately started acting different,” she muttered, wiggling her fingers and making funny faces for the camera.
“Show them, Queen,” another viewer commented.
The athlete used her own trending audio in the video, which was immediately noticed and praised by viewers.
“Using your own iconic sound is *chefs kiss*,” one of them said.
The two-time Olympian had a reason for her specific choice of colors.
In the caption, she explained that she had decorated one hand with the Olympic colors and the other with colors reminiscent of the American flag.
Her left hand had an Olympic theme: green, yellow, black and red and star nail art in opposing colors.
The other hand was similar with the colors red, white and blue and also with star shaped nail art in the same style.
