Oura Ring 4 with improved sensors, battery life up to 8 days launched

Oura Ring 4 launched in select global markets on Thursday. The smart ring features a redesigned titanium construction and is available in six colorways. It is compatible with the Oura app and supports Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) connectivity. The smart wearable will have twelve size options and will come with a size-specific charger. It comes equipped with Smart Sensing technology that is claimed to help provide more accurate health and activity measurements. Like competing health and fitness trackers, the Oura Ring 4 has heart rate and temperature sensors, among other things.

Oura Ring 4 Price and availability

Oura Ring 4 price starts for $349 (approximately Rs. 29,300) and is available in a range of 12 sizes between 4 and 15. The smart ring is offered in Black, Brushed Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, Silver and Stealth color options.

According to the company, it’s the ring available for pre-order through select channels in the US, UK and select European countries and will ship from October 15.

The Oura Ring 4 has a lightweight, non-allergenic, all-titanium construction and is water resistant up to 100 meters. The company says the smart ring features its Smart Sensing technology with an advanced algorithm that is claimed to provide more accurate health and activity measurements.

The ring has red and infrared LEDs that measure blood oxygen levels when the user sleeps, and green and infrared LEDs alternate to measure heart rate, heart rate variability at all times, and breathing rate during sleep. An accelerometer helps track the user’s movements and activities throughout the day, and a digital sensor measures the body’s temperature fluctuations.

The updated Oura app now provides detailed insights into stress, activity and reproductive health, the company said. Oura Labs, which allows members to try out experimental features, is now available on both iOS and Android devices.

The Oura Ring 4 is claimed to offer up to eight days of battery life. Depending on the power level, charging takes approximately 20 to 80 minutes. It comes with a size-specific charger and a USB Type-C cable. The smart ring supports Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. It measures 7.90mm wide and 2.8mm thick. Depending on the size, the ring weighs between 3.3 g and 5.2 g.
