Over 5.59 lakh aspirants appearing for 4,002 vacancies of police officers in J&K | India News – Times of India
Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB) Chairman Indu Kanwal Chib informed that 2,62,863 candidates will take exams for posts of Police Officers (Executive/Armed/SDRF) at 856 centers in 20 districts on December 1, with district of Jammu. see the highest turnout. On December 8, 1,67,609 candidates will compete for the posts of police officer (telecommunications), followed by 1,28,663 candidates for posts of police officer (photographer) on December 22.
Administration officials said comprehensive measures have been taken to ensure transparency and fairness, including male and female gazetted officers as supervising supervisors at each center, with video recording during the exams.
Chief Secretary Dulloo directed the deputy commissioners to ensure smooth operations from deploying sufficient staff to the control centers. “Teams of senior officers must monitor the process to prevent malpractice. The entire chain of investigation, including return of OMR forms, must be managed rigorously,” he said.
A group of disqualified aspirants staged a protest demanding relaxation in age and rescheduling of exams. The protesters, who were aging due to recruitment delays, expressed frustration at the government’s lack of action on their pleas.
The protesters called for immediate changes to ensure a level playing field for senior candidates, especially for both police officers and sub-inspectors.
The SSRB also announced a recruitment drive for 669 posts of Sub-Inspectors in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, applications for which will open on December 3 and close on January 2, 2025.
