Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Mercedes-Maybach … Soon you can add another one, albeit much less recognizable, name to that list of the world’s most luxurious car manufacturers. US start-up dacora is here and wants a piece of the ultra-high-net-worthy cake.
Founded in the Hudson Valley in New York by mit-educated engineers Kristie and Eric d’Ambrosio-Correll, the young brand is the first of its kind and led by a female CEO, as well as the first to have the confidence to order $ 500,000 (about $ 370,000 / AUL $ 770,000) Back jury of the history of history.
The price has been determined as such because Dacora claims that every vehicle is “carefully handmade” using components and materials from America.
The design inspired by the 1930s, produced in collaboration with the renowned Pininfarina group in Italy, is a tribute to the glamorous power liners of Hollywood’s Golden Age.
Long hoods, well-shaped fenders and the option to give up real metal and hardwood input on the outside are just a few of the stylistic points.
Inside you will not find unpleasant plastics or cheap scratching surfaces, because Dacora only turns to natural wood, leather and woven wool for its interior.
The company even says that there will be two years of drops with which customers can fully exchange the interior fabrics with the changing seasons wool for winter, linen for the summer, for example.
The debut model that is currently unnamed at the moment will be available with everything from configurations of three to seven seats, with each chair including its own independent lighting and climate controls.
Money no object

Dacora wants to bring us back to a time when driving was a sensory experience, so today the screen dumped dominated cockpit of today, depending on only one non-touchscreen display to ensure infotainment tasks.
If not in use, this screen apparently disappears behind a semi-transparent wooden panel, while all controls are mechanical. Quite the analog movement for two engineers trained by MIT.
As far as the performance is concerned, Dacora still has to announce exact EV rowing line details, but says it strives for more than 800 hp and a projected 400-Mile fully electric reach. There is also the option of a hybrid powertrain on request.
Analysis: Keeping up with stylish competition
Co-founder and CEO Kristie d’Ambrosio-Correll was the former CTO of Mirror, a smart fitness product that turned out to be a popular lifestyle product with the very rich.
Building on this blueprint, Dacora will open its 100-hectare Hudson Valley garage next year, complete with on-site production, design studio and rooms for guests to stay. Every car will be a customized, personal committee, where the designer of the brand is on the hand to guide them through the process.
Customers will also be able to enjoy compound events, “compelling experiences” and all the other beautiful things that rich people like to fill their free time.
Dacora will have to take this side of things, because early images of the vehicle reveal division styling and buy half a million US dollars a lot of Rolls-Royce, which remains the last word in refusing the car and the ultimate show of wealth.
