Panda-monium! Chinese pandas reenact the cutest scene ever as they eat bamboo shoots around a small picnic table before happily sliding headfirst down a slide
Chinese pandas have been photographed re-enacting the cutest Goldilocks scene ever as they ate bamboo shoots around a small picnic table.
Four cute pandas, named Shuangshuang, Chongchong, Xixi and Qingqing, gathered around a wooden table, peeling and eating fresh bamboo shoots.
Some of the giant bears even sat on little chairs before happily jumping down the slide head first.
The treat for the bears at the Chongqing Zoo in southwestern China was part of the festivities surrounding the (human) Mid-Autumn Festival.

One of the pandas waddled over to a clump of bamboo shoots that were resting on a swing.
Then he dropped to the ground to eat, and another panda came closer. At first he stayed on the ground, but later he climbed onto the swing.
The unusual behavior thrilled visitors as it was reminiscent of the fairy tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The zoo, which is home to 23 pandas, is no stranger to strange behavior that leaves visitors in awe.
Last year, some animal lovers became convinced that pandas were nothing more than people in cuddly suits.
Video taken at Chongqing Zoo shows three pandas gathering around a wooden table and chairs to eat food set out for them.
As the trio sits down, a fourth panda enters the fray. Then, each panda stands on its hind legs to eat from the table.

After the video was posted to X (formerly Twitter), users were divided over whether the bears were real pandas or people pretending to be black-and-white bamboo enthusiasts.
Some believed the animals were real, but others weren’t so sure.
Someone said, “That’s pretty good to have at the end of the clip, [it] does exactly what bears do. It would be hard for a man to sit back like that.’
A second added: ‘I wouldn’t even be mad if it was someone in a suit. At least that’s one bear free.’
Another asked: ‘Are you sure it’s not someone in a panda suit?’
A fourth joked: ‘This video just confirms my theory that pandas are actually people in panda suits. That’s not a real animal.’
