Parents rush to get their hands on new £15 Morrisons picnic box – perfect for summer
PARENTS are rushing to Morrisons to get their hands on a brand new picnic box.
The much-loved chain has launched a Family Picnic Box, which is perfect for summer holidays and trips with children during the autumn break.
Many parents know that eating out with the whole family can often be quite expensive.
Luckily, Morrisons has come up with a solution with a handy box that will not only make children happy, but adults too.
One savvy shopper was so pleased with her find that she shared her bargain on social media. With a Morrisons More Card it costs £15, without a card it costs £20.
Post message on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Groupa closed Facebook group with 2.5 million members, Samantha Evans shared snaps of her purchase at Morrisons.
The clever mother then explained that the box contained two adult sandwiches and that you could choose from egg and cress, smoked ham and cheese, tuna sandwiches or chicken and bacon sandwiches.
You will also receive two children’s sandwiches, with a choice of ham or cheese.
In addition, customers receive a pack containing six sausage rolls or cheese and onion rolls.
No picnic is complete without crisps. For this picnic box you can choose between a six-pack of Walkers Variety or a 125g bag of Morrisons’ The Best Cooked Sea Salted Crisps.
You will also receive a sweet treat, namely five strawberry donuts, a pack of five milk chocolate cookies or five custard donuts.
In addition, the picnic box comes with a fruit package. You can choose from a package of seven oranges, a package of five bananas or a package of six apples.
And to top it all off, you can choose from two adult drinks and two children’s drinks.
For the adult drinks you can get two bottles spring water, 7UP, Pepsi Max, Oasis Citrus fruits, or Fanta Zero.
And for the children’s drinks there is spring water, or orange or Apple and blackcurrant Fruit Burst.

When do supermarkets offer promotions with yellow stickers?
The length of time supermarkets remove their products from the shelves varies from store to store.
Here’s a rough guide per supermarket:
Aldi
Aldi uses a red sticker to show discounts on fresh products such as bread, meat, fruit and vegetables.
This is when they have reached the last day of their shelf life.
Items with red stickers are usually found during opening and closing times.
MRS
The time it takes to close the store can vary from store to store, but it is likely to happen just before closing time.
Asda
Asda said Which? that the yellow stickers are placed twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.
Cooperative
Co-op told The Sun that the reduced prices are typically applied four hours before the store closes.
Lidl
Lidl uses a similar procedure to Asda and Aldi, with discounts being given twice a day.
However, individual stores may reduce their prices during the day.
Morrisons
According to online shoppers, Morrisons offers the best bargains first thing in the morning.
However, the store told Which? that there are no specific times for yellow sticker price reductions.
Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s told The Sun that it is up to the store manager to decide whether to offer discounts.
However, according to buyers, the best deals are in the evening, from 6pm.
Tesco
Tesco has stated that there is no specific time for the reduction, but most people noticed that prices were reduced from 6pm.
To wait
As with most other stores, Waitrose customers say the best discounts are found just before closing time.
However, the store indicated that there is no specific time for applying the yellow stickers.
A third commented: “Wow, that’s amazing! Thanks for sharing, I had no idea this existed.”
Meanwhile, one shopper beamed: “I bought one yesterday. I used my More Card. Absolutely 100% worth it.
“Lots of choice, something for everyone. Just go to the café and choose from the order form. Definitely worth it.”
