PEOPLE just discovered how McDonald’s drive-through staff sorts out which order belongs to which person, and they’re baffled.
For years, people have wondered how McDonald’s employees know which cars to give which orders to.

But maybe we finally have an answer.
Aimee Wills shared on TikTok that she just saw a video of a McDonald’s employee telling the truth.
She said, “When you order food, they take a picture of your face.”
Aimee was shocked by the revelation and said, “Can you imagine what that picture looks like?”

Her jaw dropped as she imagined the camera filming her from an awkward angle, or while she was mid-conversation.
Her claims appear to be supported by McDonald’s employees @privf1tz who said in a TikTok video: “We have a camera on the speaker that takes a picture of you so we know whose order is whose.
“Seeing random pictures of people makes my day.”
The McDonald’s employee added that the speakers also pick up conversations people have in their cars before taking their order.
The revelation likely left many people open-mouthed, as Aimee’s TikTok, which was posted under the username @aimeeeewillshas been viewed 1.4 million times.
TikTok users rushed to the comments of the video to share their thoughts on the revelation.
One person said, “I refuse to believe this!”
A second person said, “I am a former McDonald’s employee and this is absolutely true.
“I saw some pictures that made me laugh.”
