People are only now realizing that there is a hidden headband on your gym gear
EVERY girl knows the frustration of leaving the house without something to tie your hair.
This can be especially annoying if you’re planning a workout, but don’t worry: your gym gear can do the trick.
In a Reddit afterone user shared his shock after learning that most fitness tops have hair bands hidden on them.
The poster used an emoji to show how stunned they were by the discovery.
Available on most training jerseys or jackets, the hidden headband actually sits right under your nose.
In fact, you’ve probably fiddled with it between sets or on the way home from a run.
However, most people don’t even know this useful feature is available.
The Redditor revealed that the zipper pull on your jacket probably contains a small elastic.
This is designed so that it can be easily removed from your jacket and reused as a hair tie.
You can then reattach it to your zipper once you’re done using it in your hair.
While the poster shared a sample of their scuba gear, the hidden hair tie is available from several brands, including Lululemon.
“I’m sure most of you already knew this and I’m super late to the game,” the Redditor wrote.
“But I just saw on the website, because I happened to be wearing my Scuba half-zip, that one of the features on all the dive hoodies is the emergency hair elastic.”
The unnamed user then described the design as “so cool.”
Reddit users shared their thoughts on the hack in the comments section.
“And the hair ties can be purchased as a replacement zipper pull if yours ever breaks,” one reader wrote.
“Oh wow. I was a year old today when I heard this,” said another person.
Hairstyles that are kind to your locks
- Loose braids: Opt for loose, soft braids instead of tight braids to minimize tension on the scalp and reduce breakage.
- Low ponytail: A low ponytail is less stressful on your hair compared to high, tight ponytails. Use a fabric-covered hair tie to prevent snagging.
- Messy sandwich: A relaxed, messy bun can be both stylish and kind to your hair. Don’t pull your hair too tight and use soft hair elastics.
- Soft waves: Embrace your natural texture or use heatless methods to create soft waves, reducing the need for damaging heat styling tools.
- Half up, half down: This hairstyle involves pulling back some of the hair while leaving the rest loose, reducing pressure on your scalp.
- Headbands and scarves: Using headbands or scarves can keep hair out of your face without causing damage, and they can be quite fashionable.
- Loose braids for sleeping: Loosely braid your hair before going to bed to prevent tangles and breakage during the night.
“It’s the same on the Define jackets! Such a cute little feature!” a third Redditor commented.
“Many jackets and some bags come with emergency tie-downs! It’s great,” another commenter wrote.
“Oh my God! Thanks for sharing. Great to know that,” said one reader.
“Oh my God, I had no idea! I’m going to check my bags and hoodies now,” another person commented.
“This has been around since the early 2000s,” one Reddit user wrote.
