A TV enthusiast took to TikTok to share a video explaining the rumored reason while referencing a photo of TikToker GK Barry in her jungle outfit.

She insists that it is “not because she looks great in red”, or that “Arsenal are the leaders of London”, but instead “must stop blood splatters and hide them from blood-sucking creatures in the jungle”.

“Basically once you get bit you will get cuts and bruises and these red socks will be the ones that will cover them up so it looks like they haven’t been through the wars,” Connor said.

The revelation was made by former I’m a Celeb medic Bob McCarron, who told Woman’s Own that the socks are “supposed to conceal blood stains”.

Bob, who was called ‘Dr Bob’ on the programme, started on I’m a Celeb in 2002.

He is a pre-hospital care practitioner and critical care paramedic with degrees in nursing, paramedicine, pre-hospital medicine and certifications in other specialized medical fields.

He left in 2022.

TikTok star GK, real name Grace, previously appeared on the small screen in the third series of Locked In, where contestants competed for the top prize of £10,000.

And Connor pointed out that the social media celebrity is unlikely to be able to handle the critters in the jungle as she “absolutely went crazy” when she had to hold a spider on the show.

“If she’s going to get bit, she’ll call the first cab home, buddy,” he concluded.

I’m a celebrity 2024

As the hit ITV show heads into its 24th series, a brand new group of famous faces look set to re-enter the Australian jungle to brave terrifying Bushtucker Trials and live among the critters in the camp to come out on top and… to be crowned king. or Queen of the Jungle. The Sun’s Jake Penkethman looks at the stars following Down Under this year…

  • Coleen Rooney – Arguably the biggest name to enter the camp, the leading WAG, known for her marriage to Wayne Rooney, will make a grand return to television as she strives to put the Wagatha Christie scandal behind her. The Sun revealed the mum-of-four had secured an eye-watering deal worth more than £1.5million to attend the camp this year, making her the highest-paid attendee ever.
  • Tulisa – The pop star and former X Factor judge looks set to make a triumphant return to TV by signing up for I’m A Celeb this year after years of avoiding TV shows. Tulisa is known for being a member of the trio N-Dubz and became a household name in 2011 when she signed up to replace Cheryl on ITV show The X Factor in a multi-million pound deal.
  • Alan Halsall – The actor, known for playing the long-running role of Tyrone Dobbs in ITV soap Coronation Street, was originally signed to head Down Under last year but an operation threw his planned gig off course. Now he hopes to become the latest Corrie star and win over viewers and his fellow celebrities alike when he enters the camp.
  • Melvin Odoom – The radio DJ has become a regular face on TV screens after rising to fame presenting on Kiss FM, BBC Radio 1 and 4Music. He’s already graced the dancefloor of Strictly and co-hosted The Xtra Factor with Rochelle Humes in 2015, but now he faces his biggest challenge yet: the Australian jungle.
  • GK Barry – Britain’s biggest social media personality, GK, whose real name is Grace Keeling, has transformed her TikTok stardom into a lucrative career. In addition to her popular social media channels, she presents the weekly podcast Saving Grace and regularly appears on the ITV talk show Loose Women. She has even endorsed popular brands like PrettyLittleThing, KFC and Ann Summers.
  • Dean McCullough – A rising star among this year’s celebrities, Dean first came to prominence through his radio appearances on Gaydio and BBC Radio 1. He was chosen to join the BBC station permanently in 2021 and has been prominent ever since. He has enjoyed a crossover to ITV in the past year thanks to his guest roles in Big Brother spin-off show Late & Live.
  • Oti Mabuse – The professional dancer has signed up for her latest TV show after working her way through the biggest shows on the box. She originally found fame on Strictly Come Dancing but has since branched out into the world of TV, with appearances on former BBC show The Greatest Dancer and her current role in ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
  • Danny Jones – The McFly star was added to the program at the last minute as a replacement for Tommy Fury. Danny is the second member of McFly to enter the jungle, after Dougie Poynter won the show in 2011. He is also considered a rising star on ITV as he is now one of the mentors on their Saturday night talent show, The Voice, alongside bandmate Tom. A jungle insider said: “Not only does he bring some of the group’s appeal, but he will also provide some serious boy candy for the campmates and viewers at home.”
  • Maura Higgins – The Irish TV beauty first found fame on Love Island, where she briefly linked up with dancer Curtis Pritchard. She has since competed on Dancing On Ice and hosted the Irish version of the beauty pageant Glow Up. Since last year, she has been working on building her career in the US as a social media correspondent and host of Aftersun to accompany Love Island USA. She even guest-hosted an episode of the spin-off, Love Island Games, in place of Maya Jama last year.
  • Jane Moore – The Loose Women star and The Sun columnist will be braving the creepy crawlies this year. The star is ready for a new challenge: she recently divorced her husband. It will be Jane’s first foray into reality TV, with the telly favorite having always said no to reality shows in the past.
  • Barry McGuigan – Former professional boxer Barry becomes the latest fighting champion to play Down Under, following in the footsteps of Tony Bellew and Amir Khan. It comes after a difficult few years for Irish star Barry, who lost his daughter Danika to breast cancer. He told it The Late Late Show in 2021: “She was such an intrinsic part of the family that it hurts us every day.”
  • Rev. Richard Coles – Former BBC radio presenter Rev Richard Coles is ready for I’m A Celebrity – and is ready to criticize his old employer. The former Communards and Strictly star, 62, said the BBC knew nothing about his elbow last year. An insider said: “Rev. Coles will have a variety of stories to tell from his wild days as a pop star in the 1980s, to appearing on Strictly and his later life as a man of substance.”
  • GK is joined in the Australian jungle by stars such as Coleen Rooney, Tulisa, Jane Moore and Alan Halsall.

Barry McGuigan, Danny Jones, Melvin O’Doom, Oti Mabuse and Dean McCullough are also on the line-up.

However, people are divided on the cast for the show, as some called it “the best they’d seen in a while” while someone else called the celebrities a “cast of none.”

“Celebrity? Who are these people,” another fumed.

The series, presented by Ant and Dec, starts this Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
