Madeleine told TikTok that her first “divisive” decision was to have a wedding at a different location.

She said people accused her of being “selfish” because many people who could not afford to travel would be excluded from the wedding.

But she also said that “that’s exactly the crux of the matter.”

“We want to avoid the fair-weather guests who only come to watch the ceremony for an hour and get a free plate of food.

“If people are spending money to come all the way to Europe to attend our wedding, they must really care about us.”

Another rule of Madeleine and her fiancé is that there are no speeches at the wedding.

“We’ll have my dad give a speech and Andrew’s dad give a welcome toast,” she said.

“And that’s it, finito, cut!”

Madeleine added that they will give their guests a dress code and tell them what to wear.

She said people criticized this rule, calling it “tasteless” and “selfish,” but she said she found it useful to have a theme.

“It’s more difficult and confusing if you don’t impose a dress code on people,” she said.

Madeleine’s video, which was posted under the username @madeleine_white, has likely touched many people, as it has already been viewed more than 2.5 million times on the video platform.

TikTok users rushed to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts.

Someone said, “Our problem with offsite weddings is that we always want to go but can’t afford it.

Wedding Dress Trends 2024

Sophie Creed, bridal designer and founder of bridal brand e&w Couture, shared this year’s most popular wedding dress designs.

Sustainable Chic

Bridal fashion in 2024 will see a strong shift towards sustainability, with brides paying close attention to the fabrics they use to make their dresses.

Many brides also want to wear a second-hand dress or a vintage one.

Boho bliss

The bohemian aesthetic is effortless and laid-back elegance – ideal for relaxed weddings. Whether it’s in a garden, on a beach or under the stars, the boho trend is also great for nature-inspired weddings.

Couples opting for outdoor locations and bohemian-inspired dresses with flowing silhouettes, floral lace and whimsical details that blend in with the natural surroundings. It’s all about bringing the romance of the outdoors into the bridal wardrobe.

Bohemian-style dresses often feature vintage-inspired lace, flowy sleeves and airy details that will stand the test of time.

Satin elegance

Satin wedding dresses are winning the hearts of brides who appreciate the combination of modern simplicity and classic luxury.

This trend is suitable for weddings where an elegant, refined aesthetic is preferred. It is therefore an ideal choice for formal occasions, chic city weddings or other occasions where the bride wants to see herself in a dress that exudes sophistication and grace.

Daring romance

Oversized and daring modern models show a shift in bridal fashion.

This trend is for the bride who dares to be different, who breaks with tradition and embraces a vibrant, contemporary aesthetic on the most important day of her life.

“It would take at least a year to save up money to travel like this and that would mean no more family vacations.”

A second person said, “If I got married somewhere else, I would feel guilty that my friends and family would have to spend so much of their savings to go there.

“They care about you, but they’re not rich.”

A third person said: “The only problem with getting married in a foreign location is that it sometimes excludes people with health issues, like grandparents and people who don’t have a lot of money to travel.”

A fourth person added: “Most of my family couldn’t attend my cousin’s wedding because they couldn’t afford it.

“It was heartbreaking that we couldn’t go.”
