People are so angry and offended by my £8 DIY tip – I’ve used it all over my house
A WOMAN has revealed she’s given her home a major makeover thanks to a cheap hack.
So if you want to give your home a makeover but don’t want to spend too much money, you’ve come to the right place.
UK DIY enthusiast Lissie Broom has revealed how her simple trick has helped her add style and glamour to her home on a budget.
And Lissie claimed that although people get “so angry” and “offended” by her trick, she doesn’t care because she “loves” her beautiful home.
Lissie took to social media to share that she swears by using DC-Fix vinyl, which she buys from B&Q, to transform her home in a budget-friendly way.
Rolls are available from just £8 and Lissie confirmed she used the DC-Fix vinyl in the colour Ribeck Oak.
Showing off her beautiful home, the content creator said: “I can’t believe how offended some people are by DC-Fix vinyl.
“I have used it all over my house: on dressing tables, chests of drawers, windowsills and in my kitchen.
“And the best part? It’s budget-friendly, tenant-friendly.
“You can transform any piece of furniture – yes, in the past it was Fablon, which has been used for years and years.
“Some people just get really angry about it. I don’t know why they get so angry.
“If someone wants to slap vinyl on their furniture, let them. If you don’t like it, scroll down.”
Showing off her beautiful kitchen, which has been given a facelift thanks to DC-Fix vinyl, Lissie explains: “Anyway, I love it. The best thing about it for me is that if I change my mind, I can change it, and I’ve changed my kitchen three times since I’ve lived in this house because I get bored quite quickly.
“That’s the beauty of it: you can just take it out and it won’t damage your worktop, because I’ve done that several times.
“That’s true, or so I’ve been told. It strips paint off furniture, so be careful if you’re going to change anything on your furniture. You have to be careful.
“For me it is the best and because it is budget friendly and tenant friendly, I will only use the DC-Fix brand.”

However, Lissie stressed that while you can buy similar adhesive vinyls from Shein and Temu, it’s better to get the right materials from B&Q.
The DIYer gave the following advice: “A lot of people have messaged me and said, ‘I got it from Shein, it’s amazing,’ ‘I got it from Temu,’ or somewhere else – I would only recommend DC-Fix.

“It’s easier than you think to do it. If you’re thinking about doing it, do it. Honestly, you won’t regret it.
“It can be difficult, you need a lot of patience, but it is definitely worth it.
“You can change it whenever you want. So, yeah, if you think about it, do it. Definitely.”

Someone said, “I’m thinking of doing this. Do you seal the sink over the vinyl?”
Lissie confirmed this: “Yes honey, I will caulk the sink and then caulk the edges near the tiles.”
Another added: “Fantastic work, do you know what you’re doing? I would love to do my kitchen but when I did my vanity it had a lot of air bubbles in it.”
