People criticize mom when she names her twins after a character from Tangled

MANY parents decide to name their little ones after something or other things they love.

But one mum was mercilessly criticized for doing just that after naming her twins after characters from hit animated film Tangled.

This comes after the mother’s cousin took to Facebook to share the names, leaving people baffled.

“My cousin has twin sons named Flynn and Ryder,” she wrote in the viral post.

At first, she confessed that she thought it was just a “funny coincidence” that her cousin had chosen two names that shared the same name as the main character from the 2011 Disney film.

“She looked at me a little embarrassed and whispered, ‘I just really like Tangled,’” the post continued.

In the film, Flynn Ryder is a kind-hearted thief who subsequently wins Rapunzel’s heart.

After the post was shared on Facebook, many people had different opinions on the matter, with many claiming that the mom went too far with the Disney-inspired names.

“She’s like a five-year-old playing with dolls,” one commented.

And another responded even harsher: “She should have her tubes tied for this.”

“I’ll tie her tubes myself, I have YouTube, I’ll figure it out,” someone else added.

“Why do you have to name your kids after movies and TV shows you like?” someone else mused.

Meanwhile, many people defended the mother for choosing the names.

“Tangled is dope. Approved,” one person wrote.

“Neither name is a tragedy, it’s just a shame she gave her twins the same names, super cliche,” said another.

“I love Tangled too so I don’t see anything wrong with this,” someone else added.

But mom isn’t the only parent who has come under fire lately for their choice of baby name. In fact, a mother was criticized for giving her little one a name that sounds like a “troll.”

This comes after a Reddit user explained that she came across the unusual name when her former classmate posted about her newborn baby.

“[I] I decided to check Facebook for the first time in a while and the first thing I see is that a girl I went to high school with named her daughter Creeklee,” the poster wrote.

“I think that’s the worst name I’ve heard so far.”

She pointed out that people seem to be following the same trend when naming their children.

“You can’t put ‘ly’ or ‘lee’ or ‘leigh’ after any word and make it a name,” she said.

“I’m picturing a cartoonish river troll. ‘Oh, your shovel’s gone? That must have been Ole Creeklee,'” one reader joked.

‘These sound more like noises birds could make. Cree! Klee! Cree! Klee!” a third person wrote.

“My arthritis causes my joints to go into all kinds of wriggling motions,” said another Redditor.
