Rome was not built in a day – but the extreme 12 -hour adventure of this traveler was.

The American solo traveler, Kevin Droniak, shocked the internet with a video of his Wild Day Trip from New York to Rome.

The adventurous Instagrammer (@kevindroniak) made the 8,000 mile return to spend only 12 hours in the eternal city.

In his Instagram video, Kevin says: ‘You may not believe me, but Italy Is a day trip from New York and you go with me. ‘

The ambitious traveler reveals that his flight from New York lands in Rome at 7.05 am with his return flight at 7:05 pm and claims: “I have the feeling that that is more than enough time.”

Kevin adds: “My logic here is that I go to bed tonight, so why not sleep on an eight -hour flight and wake up in Italy?”

In the next shot, Kevin is in the Italian capital for Rome’s Colosseum before 9 am before 9 am at 9 am.

“I have to go back to the airport within eight hours,” he explains. Rome is six hours ahead of New York, which could explain Kevin’s unusual choice to start his day by enjoying pizza for breakfast with a ‘view of the Colosseum’.

The next one on the agenda is a look at the old monument, where Kevin reveals: ‘The last time I was here, I was 15 and I didn’t care about history. But now I can appreciate it. ‘

The traveler then jumps on a bike and slows down to explore the Appian Way, one of the world’s earliest Roman roads that connects the Italian capital with Brindisi in South Italy.

Kevin explains: ‘There are just ruins next to the road. And I think I’m the only tourist here. As if no one is around. This is definitely the highlight of my day to date.

‘And the fact that tonight I will be in my apartment in New York City. Life is wild. ‘

Unfortunately, the traveler than trapped in a downpour and reveals that he has not brought a change in clothing for his flight home.

There is just time for a bowl of pasta in another Rome restaurant before Kevin has to go back to the airport.

Because he is steeped in the rain, Kevin also picks up a T-shirt with Rome theme to wear home on the plane.

At the airport he jokes: ‘It feels like I was just there – because I was. I am ready to go home, but I would do it again. ‘

So how much Kevin’s Extreme Roman holiday did it cost him?

In another video, the traveler reveals that the entire trip cost him $ 641/£ 466, with the return flights at $ 506/£ 368.
