A WOMAN has told how she got pregnant when she was just 14 and believes it was the best thing that ever happened to her.
Brianna Velasco, now 18, discovered she was pregnant at age 14 and welcomed her son into the world in July 2021.

Being such a young mother came with its challenges, but Brianna says she is now as happy as she could have hoped.
About her unique story she said: “[Me and my boyfriend] I met when I was 12 and he was 14
“Yeah, we were young, cry about it,” she told viewers.
She said she was staying with her aunt at the time and was babysitting her cousin’s baby.
“When I got pregnant, I knew it was going to be difficult.”

After experiencing all the usual symptoms, she had a hunch that she must be pregnant and decided to take a test.
“One day I called my boyfriend and told him that my period was late.
“A week later still nothing,” she said
While Brianna told her aunt she wanted to be downstairs alone, she actually took a pregnancy test.
Brianna claimed she was no longer welcome at home and felt it was best to leave her childhood home.
The teenage mother and her partner decided to rent their own apartment and prepare for the arrival of their son.
While the couple was overjoyed with their exciting announcement, they also faced some negativity.
Despite some cynical criticism, Brianna gave birth to her son Zaiyel on July 27, 2021.
Her inspiring pregnancy story was posted to her TikTok page and has since been viewed nearly a million times.
Many users have shown their appreciation for Brianna’s journey through the comments.
A TikTok star said: “So young but look at your new family, it’s totally worth it!”
While another added: “I can’t even imagine what that was like for you, I love happy endings!”
She said, “I didn’t care anymore what people said or how often they wished bad things upon me.
“We celebrated our pregnancy, regardless of what people said.
“At 4:09am our sweet baby boy Zaiyel was born and at that moment nothing else in the world mattered.
“Without my son I wouldn’t have achieved so much.
“People say that having a baby at such a young age changes your life, maybe for better or for worse, but for me it was for the better.”
