And when the clip was reshared on Facebookpeople sighed: “Please don’t make this a trend!”

The video shows the expectant father sitting on a motorcycle and inflating a balloon attached to the exhaust pipe.

He kept pumping the gas until the black balloon, covered with white question marks, grew so large that it burst.

As they did so, blue smoke came out and blue confetti flew everywhere, a sign that they were having a boy.

However, people in the comments weren’t too impressed with the big reveal, pointing out how dangerous it could be, especially for pregnant women.

“And a huge carbon monoxide burst,” said one.

“For better results, close the garage door and close all vents,” sighed another.

“There should be a license to have children,” said a third.

“One of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen…” said someone else.

“The dumbest thing I’ve seen all day, especially when he kept driving faster and faster after that,” ranted another.

Gender reveal on estate criticized as a total ‘charade’

“Too bad the expectant mother can’t breathe so well because of the carbon monoxide,” said someone else.

“The pregnant mother inhaled all that, and so did her baby… I know it wasn’t intentional, but come on, be smart,” someone else urged.

“I was cringing the entire video,” wrote another.

“Whose brilliant idea was this?”

“These gender reveal parties have just gotten way out of hand, especially the ones involving explosives and such,” someone else insisted.

“I also feel like it’s a generational issue.

The most expensive gender reveal in the world

The gender reveals are getting bigger and more elaborate by the day as people are constantly thinking of ways to outdo their predecessors.

And for many of these couples, money is no object: some spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on the event.

Read on for some of the most expensive gender reveals in history.

Ste Hamilton

Wealthy property magnate and YouTuber Ste Hamilton decided to gift his future wife Isabella Rowles a Lamborghini worth £300,000. The Lamborghini would be in either pink or blue, to symbolise the gender of their baby.

Steven and Isabella attended an extravagant event at the Belfry Hotel and Resort near Birmingham with friends and family and discovered they were having a boy.

“It was worth every second of the hard work to see the joy on everyone’s faces that day,” said Ste, after spending another £40,000 on the big reveal.

Logan-Paul

The wrestler and YouTuber and her fiancée Nina Agdal hosted a public wrestling match to reveal their gender.

A wrestler in pink swimsuit competed against a wrestler in blue. The wrestler in pink came out on top, meaning they were having a girl.

Inga Stumbriënne

The Lithuanian influencer rented planes to fly through the sky as she, her fiancé and their loved ones looked on.

A shower of blue confetti was dropped from the plane, revealing that the couple were having a boy, but people continued to insist that this was the ‘most polluted’ gender reveal ever.

Anonymous couple

One of the most recent, jaw-dropping gender reveals came in May 2024, when a couple decided to PAIN a waterfall to reveal whether they were having a boy or a girl.

After the videos circulated on social media, the public demanded that the couple be punished, with some suggesting they go to jail.

Others were concerned about the contamination of the water, as the pair had used a chemical powder known as “Blue Lagoon” in the Queima-Pe River, which feeds the waterfall.

“Is it too much to ask to keep it simple, to the point and most importantly, safe?”

“How can someone be so ignorant???” asked another.

“It was so dangerous to think of what could have happened!”

However, there were others present to defend the couple.

“I’m sorry, but I thought it was cute,” one person wrote.

“They are standing outside on a beautiful terrace.

“No one, including the bike, was harmed in the making of this video….. jeeeez.”

“First of all, it’s on a terrace, and secondly, why not?” said another.

“It’s probably better for the environment than releasing 20 pink balloons into the sky!”

“This is outside. If you look closely you can see the roof and everything is open. And they are all spaced out so the fumes can get out,” wrote a third.

“But I understand that people may be concerned, just like I was initially, seeing that it was outside.”

“It’s funny how judgmental you all are,” someone else wrote.

“You don’t know them and you never will.

“Live your own life and stop putting others down!”
